We had far too many orchids to pack in this manner, but I still believe it is worth reading. There's no reason you can't pack like this for a one or two-day trip in a moving van during mild weather.

I searched the California Department of Food and Agriculture website for the term houseplant. This website is a good example of the kind of information we needed when we were preparing for our move to California. You may be able to find similar information on your new state's website, or you may have to actually get information the old fashioned way by making a phone call to the agricultural department.
