Growing orchids in our home is a pleasure I would not put a price tag on. I love looking up from dish-washing duty to see beautiful orchids just a few feet away.

Our experiences with our orchid collection include: going to orchid shows, caring for orchids, moving to a new home with orchids, buying orchids, and photographing orchids.

Santa Barbara International Orchid Show

No, this is not a photo of a weird space alien. It is not an insect. This is an orchid: Psychopsis Kalihi.

The photo was taken by Myqhi last weekend (February 29-March 2.). We have a lot more photos of the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show 2008.

This is an annual show and, if the quality this year was typical, it is a show I would love to attend every year.

Current changes to Myqhi Orchids

After being frustrated for a long, long time over the difficulty of updating the Myqhi Orchids website, I finally decided it was easier to take everything offline and rebuild the site from scratch. (That would be a really dumb move if this were a money making site, but it isn't.)

If a human being is actually reading this, we are thrilled that you're here. I am writing new articles, restructuring old pages and resizing our old photos. The progress is slow only because I have a full-time job and this isn't it!
